HOW BPH IS DIAGNOSED?
Your doctor will find out your medical history and conduct a physical examination that includes a finger examination of your prostate. During the examination, he uses his finger to understand the size, shape and hardness of the prostate.
Your symptoms will be carefully evaluated, blood and urine tests will be performed, and the speed of your urine flow will be measured with a uroflovmetry test.

Patients who choose to follow a waiting policy by observing it should be evaluated annually at the 6th month and after, provided that there is no increase in symptoms or absolute indications for surgical treatment do not develop.

Alpha-Blocker Drug Therapy
In order to determine their response to treatment, patients should be re-examined after the first 6 weeks of treatment. If patients achieve symptomatic relief without unpleasant side effects, alpha-blocker therapy can be continued. 6. Surgical Treatment
Patients can be seen within 6 weeks after surgical treatment to discuss histological findings and detect early post-operative morbidity (Disease status after surgery). To determine the final result, long-term follow-up should be scheduled for the 3rd month. In patients with unsuccessful treatment, a urodynamic examination should be performed, which also includes a pressure-current analysis.”
